I've just returned from Bouchercon 2009 in Indianapolis, one of the best-organized world mystery conventions in recent memory, thanks to Jim Huang and members of the Speed City Indiana chapter of Sisters in Crime, among others. At the Friday morning Sisters in Crime breakfast, I was elected president of Sisters in Crime and honored to accept The Great Seal of Office from immediate past president, Judy Clemens. My big question: why does Judy look so happy?
